High density lipoprotein and metabolic risk factors of ischemic heart disease in men aged up to 50 years part i. high density lipoprotein cholesterol high density lipoprotein triglycerides high density lipoprotein phospholipids and phospholipid fractions in dyslipidemias

The investigations were carried out in 191 men, aged from 28 to 50 years, with hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia, mixed hyperlipidemia, ischemic heart disease and normolipemia and in clinically healthy subjects. In all subjects the HDL-TG level depended on the serum total triglyceride level, phospholipids in the HDL fraction, and their total pool in the serum. The level of HDL-Ch was significantly lower in hypertriglyceridemia than in hypercholesterolemia and normalipemia. In dyslipidemias the HDL-Ch level depended on HDL-phospholipids and serum total phospholipids, while in the control group it depended on the serum levels of cholesterol and both apolipoproteins (Apo A and Apo B). In hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia a dependence of HDL-Ch on beta cholesterol was observed additionally. The level of HDL-Pl was not a criterion for differentiation of these groups and it depended on Apo A. HDL-Ch and lysolecitain in hypertriglyceridemia and mixed hyperlipidemia, while in hypercholesterolemia it depended on beta cholesterol and ApoB. The serum level of ApoB in men with hypercholesterolemia was significantly higher than in other groups and it differentiated hypertriglyceridaemia from mixed hyperlipidaemia, as well as ischemic heart disease from the control group.
